MCCC Networks
Mayo County Childcare Committee established 7 childcare networks in the 7 electoral areas of Mayo in November 2003. These areas are Ballina, Ballinrobe, Belmullet, Castlebar, Claremorris, Swinford and Westport.
The purpose of the networks is to bring childcare services together where they can
- Discuss topics of common interest such as funding, quality practice and changes in the childcare sector,
- Raise issues of common concern
- Receive information about upcoming training and events, funding programmes and changes in the National Childcare Investment Programme,
- Provide peer support and learning, and
- Sign up for upcoming Mayo CCC training and events
About the Network
Each Childcare Network meets locally 4 times in the year.
Each Childcare network area elects 2 members to the County Childcare Forum.
The County Childcare Forum, meets 4 times a year. The purpose of the County Childcare Forum is to collate issues raised by the childcare services through out the county. These issues are raised with the relevant organisations and are brought to the County Childcare Committee meetings to be discussed.
Four members of the Forum are elected on to the Mayo County Childcare Committee itself, to represent the views of Childcare Services.
Dates, times and venues of upcoming Network meetings for Childcare services are included in our Training and Events Calendar.
