Introduction
These resource packs are to be use as a general guide and to help your childcare service operate effectively and to adhere to best practice.
The sample templates are to be used in the context of being a guide. They are not intended to be used as verbatim templates. In using the sample templates you should study the documents and then adapt them to your individual service and its individual needs.
Also Mayo CCC is conscious that legislation in this area can change quite quickly, so while every effort has been made to ensure that this information is up to date and accurate Mayo CCC strongly advise you to double check any information provided with the relevant statutory body responsible for the particular issue you are interested in . For example for any questions under employment law we advise you contact NERA directly to clarify any questions you may have, or for any questions under Health & Safety we advise that you contact the Health & Safety Authority directly.
In relation to the issue of Human Resources ( HR) Management, we have two guides. One was developed by a number of County Childcare Committees in Longford, Meath, Louth and Monaghan.
The other guide was developed here locally in Mayo by Ann Caulfield for Mayo CCC.
We find both guides cover different various issues relating to the management of staff. Both guides include helpful templates and examples which can be adapted and used quite easily to meet the needs of your individual service.
